Sign of the Times

I know I said I'd tell you about the where we went last Sunday and it's almost Sunday again! OK so here goes...

For those of you don't know it, Suzan is a Golden Retriever nut/fanatic! Which is a good thing since I'm one! She's always looking on eBay for unique Golden stuff and found these beautiful hand crafted metal hooks. Ironically they were made in Maine which is where we live! Suzan won them and was so impressed she emailed Nate, the guy who made them and had a custom sign made for Loganland. Suzan said it was easy to do and Nate is great. Suzan told Nate she wanted something evocative of the Disneyland sign, Nate emailed a concept drawing, Suzan made a few minor tweaks and voila - we have a beautiful, custom made, 14.5"x20.5" piece of art for under $40! I'm sure one lucky dog to have my own sign!
Since Nate lives near where the film festival we went to is, we stopped there on Sunday to pick up the sign! Oh and Nate has four Golden Retrievers - Kenai, Katalla, Yukon and Tess. I think Yukon has a crush on me. (doggie grin)
We saw some of Nate's other pieces and they are gorgeous. He makes plant hangers, signs, candle holders and even coffee tables! We love the Golden and dog themed ones of course but he also has great loon, dragonfly, moose, bears, horses and birds! So if you're looking for a unique, hand crafted item for yourself or for a special gift, visit Nate's web site or eBay store and tell him that Logan sent you!
Thanks Nate! I love my sign!

A Weekend Away

We just got back from a weekend away at the Maine International Film Festival where I saw old friends, made new ones and impressed people with my good behavior and skills! I first went there two years ago when Suzan and Jon puppy sat me for a week. I was only 15 weeks old at the time, just a young pup but it started my love of movies. I have to say that Air Bud movies are my favorite but they didn't show any at this film festival. I did however, nap through a 3 hour Bollywood film!

Suzan thought it would be fun to try and recreate some photos from two years ago. Here I am in front of the festival movie posters at the Railroad Square Cinema, then and now...

In front of the Waterville Opera House...

In one of the theaters...

I saw my old friends Ken and John of Railroad Square Cinema who run the film festival, Justine at the Waterville Hampton Inn and made a new friend Sue at Buen Apetito.

Tomorrow I will tell you about the place we went to on our way home Sunday and the wonderful doggie products we got there!

My first play date in Loganland!

Loganland, my doggie playland backyard is coming right along! Suzan will have to take some photos of the doggie statues she got. Even though I'm a service dog it's kinda hard for me to do without thumbs.

We had our first official play date on Friday with Higgins, a Golden Retriver puppy. He's named after Higgins Beach here in Maine and he's not so bad for a puppy. We chased each other around the yard and I let him play with my toys. I also had to show him what the kiddie pool was for, it was his first time. He wasn't too sure about it but by the time he left I think he got it.

Of course Suzan thought he was extremely cute but I had to remind her how cute I was as a puppy...

Here is a slideshow of our day, enjoy!

A Sensitive G irl

Sorry for the delay in posting, Suzan and I have been keeping very busy!

Before I forget, Suzan wanted me to mention how after three days of her asking me to pick up my bowl after I'm done eating I started doing it automatically when I'm finished! That biscuit waiting up on the counter is a very good motivator!

We went to an MS support group meeting yesterday and everyone was very impressed with me. I showed them how I could pick up Suzan's cane if she dropped it. I was hoping to see Wiley, who graduated in My Wonderful Dog's class just prior to mine, but she wasn't there. I hope her partner Micah is doing OK.

Suzan said that I did something very special. One of the men at the meeting was sharing that he was sad because his friend with MS died. We were sitting right next to him and I went up to him and tried to make him feel better. Suzan let me. This is against my training and he did nothing to get my attention but I could tell that he was sad. I think it helped him to pet me. People said that I was a very special and sensitive dog to do this.

(I didn't solicit attention from anyone else there and there was even someone who kept trying to get my attention and I ignored him.)
